Default Critical Strikes

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find anything conclusive on this subject.

Assume your Sin has crit strikes maxed and the crit hat with sup crit rune. = 16%
And he/she has the following 3 skills on his/her skill bar: [Critical [email protected]] + [Way of the [email protected]] + [Way of the [email protected]]

So, do all of these %'s add together or does the game just take the one with the highest %?

Because assuming it adds them together: 16% + 16% + 37% + 35% = 104% chance of crit hit. Also assuming (correctly I hope! ) that you can have all 3 skills up at the same time. And you should, one's a skill, one's a stance and the last one is an enchantment.

If what I assumed above is true, would there be a benefit to hitting a crit every attack, aside from the obvious dmg boost?

As usual, any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

No. Percentages stack multiplicatively, not additively.

There used to be a great guide outlining all the basic math behind it and comparing return gains for increased %. If I find it, or someone else does, we'll let you know.

*edit* Meth, thank you. Thats the one.

on certain mission where i want a constant interupt there is a skill that interupts if you crit hit. i always bring my assassin hero with a crit hit intrupter build and he interupt everything. the skill is disrupting accurancy. i find him quite effective in boreas seaboard and unwaking waters. i keep him locked on one target and if you got a big boss that you want to shut down it would have the same purpose

This page has a good explanation of critical hit chance stacking. The stacking is multiplicative.

Generally you should never use more then 2 critical hit bonuses at a time for a sin, and even then only when your build absolutely relies on criticals for effect. A scythe sin for example will benefit from a 60%ish critical chance over a 50% chance, because a crit does 100 damage while a non crit will probably do 10 damage. But even then a third bonus is mostly redundant, you wont get more then 6-8% more effective chance even with another skill dedicated to the boost.

Assuming that your big boss is a spell caster, its much more effective to just use Broad head arrow. That way instead of one character having a 70%ish chance to interrupt, your whole team has a 100% chance to interrupt and has 2x as long to do it. Now if you are talking about a physical damage enemy there are much better and AoE ways to shut them down.

I think those three actually stack in an additive manner. Notice in the skill descriptions it says "Additional" and "+30%".

This is how Way of the Master Assassins abuse Critical Strikes when using things like Scythes.

Yep, Gates' guide outlines the statistics behind that fairly accurately. I can ask him in guild chat if you have any further questions

[critical eye] + [way of the assassin] + [way of the master] is an overkill on crit bonuses, no need to waste skillslots so no, no real use for this thing.

Scythesins use either [critical eye] or [way of the master] for crit bonus, using both or wasting an elite slot on useless and crappy [way of the assassins] is just useles. Only excpetion when [critical eye] is used togetgher with [way of the master] is [dark apostasy] scythesin.

normal Weapon Mastery crit chance stacks additionally with the Critical Strikes attribute.
[skill]critical eye[/skill] and [skill]way of the master[/skill] also stack additionally.

[skill]way of the assassin[/skill] is the only one that doesn't offer additional crit chance: it stacks multiplicatively as is normal for percentile chance increases.

Yes, that makes the Elite the least worthy of the 3. Leave it at home.
